ABOUT THIS GUIDE

Built to Protect Tourists. Not to Sell Tours.

Every year, thousands of tourists visiting Jaisalmer are overcharged by taxi drivers, directed to fake desert camps, or followed by touts the moment they step off the train. Most never realize it happened. We built The Jaisalmer Insider to change that.

How We Work

Verified On Ground

Every price in our guides is verified by someone physically present in Jaisalmer — not copied from a travel blog or press release. When rates change, we update the guide.

No Sponsored Content

We do not accept money from tour operators, hotels or travel agencies for coverage. An operator is listed because locals trust them — not because they paid us.

👁

Named When Necessary

We name specific operators we trust and warn about ones we don't. If something is dangerous to tourists, we say so directly.

Our Editorial Standards

Every price is verified within the last 6 months
Operator recommendations are based on community feedback, not commissions
If information is outdated, we mark it clearly with a visible warning
We never publish anonymous tips about specific operators

What Comes Next

We are building a network of verified local guides across Jaisalmer — safari operators, hotel managers, food experts, and transport providers who meet our standards. Soon, you'll be able to hire a Jaisalmer Insider concierge to plan and handle your entire trip: verified safari bookings, hotel recommendations, restaurant reservations, and on-ground support — all at published prices with no hidden charges.
