How We Verify Information
All prices, operator recommendations, and practical information published on The Jaisalmer Insider are verified by a team member or contributor physically present in Jaisalmer. We do not republish information from other travel websites, press releases, or operator marketing materials.
When we quote a price, it reflects what a tourist would actually pay at that point in time. We note the verification date on each guide. When we become aware that a price has changed, we update the guide within 7 days.
Our Anti-Sponsorship Policy
We accept no payment, free services, or gifts from tour operators, hotels, restaurants, or travel agencies in exchange for coverage or positive mentions.
Operator recommendations are based exclusively on verified community feedback, our own on-ground assessments, and reports from tourists. An operator can only be listed as 'recommended' after at least 3 independent positive verifications from tourists we have spoken to directly.
If we have personally had a negative experience with an operator, or received multiple verified complaints, we will name them in our scam alerts.
Contributor Standards
Local contributors are required to verify all claims personally before submission. Anonymous tips are not accepted for operator recommendations or pricing.
All contributors complete identity verification (Aadhar or social profile) before their content is published. Contributor names and roles are displayed on each article they write.
We do not pay contributors. Contribution is voluntary — locals contribute because they want tourists to have a better experience in Jaisalmer.
How to Report Outdated Information
If you believe any information on this site is incorrect or outdated, please contact us. We take correction requests seriously. If your report is verified, we will update the guide and credit you in the article if you wish.
